Unity Baptist Church of Atmore

  • For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find what pleases the Lord.

    Eph 5:8-10
What should I wear to worship?
One of the first things you will notice when attending worship at Unity is that there is no real "dress code". You will see our folks wearing everything from coats and ties to jeans and t-shirts. Most of our folks dress casual. So the short answer is to dress the way you feel comfortable, and do not worry whether the church family is judging you. We're not!

What can I expect in a worship service?
At Unity we all strive together to love our Lord supremely, serve one another sincerely and touch our world sacrificially. Because of this we focus on heartfelt worship through uplifting, joyful music and praise, genuine fellowship and friendship with one another, and proclaiming the good news of Jesus to each other and our world. We strive for real community at Unity. If you are a guest, we won't single you out or make you stand up before everyone. At most, our folks will shake your hand or give you a hug if you're open to it, and do our best to make you feel welcomed and valued at Unity.

Is there a place for my children and teenagers?
We provide nursery care for the little ones, a lively children's ministry called "Salt & Light" for older preschoolers and children through age 11, and a vibrant student ministry called "Consumed" for teenagers. We also provide Bible study and fellowship groups for adults of all ages. We are a multi-generational and multi-ethnic congregation. We are striving to make UBC a good place to belong for everyone, and to make anyone feel welcome in our church family.

How can I become a member of the church?

Anyone can request membership in our church family. Most do this by coming forward when the pastor gives an invitation after his message to encourage people to make personal decisions for the Lord. Or you could schedule a time to visit with the pastor to discuss your request. There are three ways to become a member of our church: By Letter which means to transfer your membership from another Baptist church to our church fellowship; By Statement which means verifying your prior salvation experience and believers baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; or By Baptism if you are making your personal decision for Christ or you have never been baptized by immersion since accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

We would love to see you!
